Plaiedes. The Seven Sisters! A great target in the winter sky. Taken over two nights with an Askar 400 FRA scope.
With a bit of patience and perseverance, some research and some trial and error, lots of mistakes and some great successes, I've found it is possible to take photos of amazing space objects from your back garden, even in relatively light-polluted skies.
During the first Covid lock down that started in May 2020, I bought a telescope. My first attempts at using a phone camera through the eye piece to take pictures of the objects I saw were not very successful! I soon learned how to attached a DSLR and began learning how to take astro-photos. I'm now using a dedicated astro-camera. It's been quite a steep learning curve and the more I find out, the more I realise there's so much more to learn!
I'm steadily adding content, information and hints and tips to this site for general interest and so you can hopefully quickly find out what took me a while and a lot of trial and error! There's lots of advice and content elsewhere on the web about astrophotography which I think I've trawled through most of! I've tried to distill some of the main hints and tips here that have helped me along the way.
